Elektra Kennedy began reading and writing erotica in high school when two of her favorite teachers began sneaking her romance novels. It soon became clear to her that a woman’s fantasy could stretch well beyond what she might actually want to experience herself (and that’s okay!), and so began Elektra’s career of pushing the limits, breaking the taboos, and allowing women to escape the mundane for just a little while to explore new tantalizing sexual desires, safely and comfortably in a judgment-free zone.

“I love erotica because it opens up a new sexual world to women,” says Elektra. “Sex can be a really self-conscious experience for us ladies—we’re constantly sent messages that our bodies aren’t good enough or that finish line of sex is to get the man off—but reading about it helps take that element out of the equation so that women can sort of try out new things without worrying about ridicule.”

Elektra now lives in Flagstaff, Arizona, and enjoys reading and writing erotica in inappropriate public settings, pushing the limits of what is fashionably acceptable, and visiting whatever microbreweries she can.
